How to put together a diverse program committee
How to select a sufficient number of committee members to maintain your Directed Reading Program (for example, smaller DRPs require less work from the committee).
Should the DRP match mentors with mentees one-on-one, or match multiple mentees with the same mentor?
Will your program provide payment or credit to graduate students who participate?
Will each mentor select the project for their mentee, or would the committee prefer to direct that process?
What is required of mentees? Are there a certain number of hours per week or per term should the mentee contribute?
The University of Maryland DRP has shared their undergraduate mentee and graduate mentor applications. They have also made available information sheets for both undergraduate and graduate participants.
The University of Texas DRP has made several of their program materials available, including information sheets, applications, and drafts of form emails in this Google Drive folder .
